Destination Downtown Mebane is a voluntary organization
of Downtown businesses that work together to promote the continued revitalization of historical Downtown Mebane and offer
special events, products and services to Mebane and the surrounding communities.
Any business within
the historic downtown business district is eligible to join. The district is defined as being from Sixth Street going
west on Hwy. 70/Center Street to the City Limits and from Holt Street going north to Graham Street.
Destination Downtown sponsors
two popular community events each year: Autumn Fest and A Hometown Holiday Celebration. Members also host
a “First Thursday”
evening happening each month, with varying themes, to attract residents & visitors to the Downtown area.
Destination Downtown created and manages the Downtown Mebane website, which generated 17,000 hits in 2012;
produces and distributes a free Downtown map and events guide; assists with the Farmer's Market; and works in cooperation
with City officials to increase the beauty and visibility of Downtown Mebane.
2nd Wednesday of each month from 9-10 a.m. at Karma
on Third, 200 N. Third Street, unless another meeting location is indicated on the Downtown Happenings page.
